Popular Toms River Restaurant Celebrating 50 Years with Steak Night Specials
As a Toms Riverite, I have spent many lunches and dinners at The Office Lounge.
Like many Toms River residents I have had my fair share of failed first dates over sushi, but I won't hold that against them.
They have great food and great drinks. My first ever appletini was enjoyed at their bar.
I spent many downtown parades meeting in their parking lot to march with my Girl Scout troop.
I never knew how old the restaurant was, I just knew it was there for as long as I could remember.

You can take my age and add a little over a decade.
The Toms River staple has been serving the area for 50 years.
The Office Lounge has been a family-owned and operated business since 1975.
With so many restaurants being lost to COVID over the past few years, it is so fantastic to see one that survived.
They had tables surrounding the restaurant outside during the pandemic, using QR code menus to keep them running during the pandemic.
The popular restaurant and sushi bar took to Facebook to celebrate their milestone anniversary.
"As we commemorate 50 years in business this year as family owned and operated, we have been expertly preparing prime rib and steaks since 1975. We are rolling back our prices on prime rib and steaks, not quite to 1975 levels."
You can celebrate the Office Lounge's gold anniversary with Tuesday night specials for "Steak Night" which will be running until February 28th.
People seem to be very excited about this anniversary special with comments under the posts saying things like:
"Omgggg this is awesome!!!"
"So wonderful!! Always loved prime rib night!!"
"Yummmmmm!"
I don't think I have ever had a steak or prime rib from Office Lounge, I usually go for sushi, a buffalo chicken wrap, or the Tuscan chicken rigatoni.
I guess I'll have to take advantage of the special and get myself a steak.
Remember when The Office Lounge looked like this?
I pulled that photo from Google Maps from 2018. If you look real close you can see the seemingly neverending Route 9 (I know it's technically Route 166) construction that lasted for years.
