I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream. One local parlor has heard our screams and is expanding its empire at the Jersey Shore.
We have lots of choices when it comes to getting a cone at the Jersey Shore.
Many parlors deserve "legendary" status. For example:
Yellow Brick Road in Brick.
Kohr's is all over the Jersey Shore.
Rich's in Toms River and Lanoka Harbor.
And who could forget Hoffman's?
It was a bummer when we found out recently that Hoffman's in Long Branch was closing.
The only upside is that we still have Pt. Pleasant Beach and Spring Lake Heights.
There is another ice cream joint that has been growing in popularity and expanding.
Have you ever been to Nicholas Creamery?
If you've never been, you're missing out big time.
Nicholas Creamery started on River Road in Fair Haven and quickly expanded to First Avenue in Atlantic Highlands and Sycamore Avenue in Tinton Falls.
This place is unique in so many ways.
Not only do they use locally sourced ingredients for their sweet treats and have options for those with food allergies and vegan lifestyles, but they are masters in small-batch ice cream.
What is small-batch ice cream? It's pretty simple. One batch of ice is made. When it runs out, the creamery moves on to the next flavor.
There are new flavor creations in rotations at all times along with the classics.
Key Lime Pie, please.
Earlier I mentioned it was sad that Hoffman's in Long Branch shut down. Still true. But it's nice to know that another popular ice cream parlor is moving in.
Nicholas Creamery announced on their social media that they are moving into the former Hoffman's location in the Ursula Plaza in Long Branch.
They expect to be scooping by spring of next year.
