Popeye’s Introduces Chicken Waffle Tenders

Most of us have tried chicken and waffles. Personally, I think the combo is awesome. But now, Popeye's has taken the delicious duo to a whole new level.

Now you don't have to decide whether to eat the chicken or the waffle first. Popeye's restaurant has combined both into one carbo filled chicken tender.

It's exactly what you think. Boneless white meat chicken dipped in waffle batter, then deep-fried and served with a honey maple dipping sauce.

Recently, while in Los Angeles, I went to Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. Arguably, the premiere chicken and waffle joint. It's legendary in LA and it lived up to its reputation. But, will the chicken chain that claims to stick to it's "Louisiana roots" be able to pull it off?

Popeyes, America’s third-largest chicken chain, will start advertising their new offering on July 29. It’s a limited-time “flavor proliferation,” so like all good things, this too must come to an end.
