Police Standoff in Gloucester Twp. Continues, Schools are Closed

An standoff in Gloucester Township is ongoing with a suspect firing shots at police, leading to the closing off all schools in the area.

The incident began around 9 p.m. Wednesday night when police received reports that residents in the Brittany Woods development off Jarvis Road in Erial heard gun shots.

Residents in the area are being asked to shelter in place. All Gloucester Twp. Public Schools and the Black Horse Pike Regional School District, including Highland High School, Timber Creek High, Triton, and Erial Community Christian School have canceled school Thursday.
