Carneys Point Police are currently investigating a phone scam asking for bail money after your child 'was arrested.'

And like any parent, people can easily fall for this trick.

NJ.com reports that a Carneys Point resident received the phone call claiming their child was arrested. The caller told the resident, their child's bail was set at $2,000.

The alarming part? The caller requested bail payment over the phone.

Now, my father has always told me to be weary of any person asking for money over the phone no matter who they are. And turns out, he's not the only one who abides by this!

Police are reminding residents to never give money over the phone. So if you have any questions, contact the Carneys Point Police Department at 856-299-1212.
