Come August 17, there could be an extra million people invading the Atlantic City Boardwalk for the 2012 Atlantic City Airshow / "Thunder Over the Boardwalk".

This annual event, embarking on its 10th year, saw about 800,000 people come out last year - making this one of the most popular events in Atlantic City.  This year the airshow is on a Friday rather than a Wednesday, giving more people the opportunity to see this spectacular free event.

See flybys and demonstrations that reach up to 15,000 feet and as low as 50 feet over the water in front of the Atlantic City skyline.  Airshow hours for August 17th will be between 10:30am-3:30pm.  Marc Berman from nj.com has a tentative lineup for the Airshow, which you can get by clicking here.

Special VIP packages are available for the A.C. Airshow that will give you access that nobody could get for free.

Should you choose to view the Airshow from the ocean, be aware that there will be a "no boat zone" restricting boaters except for the U.S. Coast Guard, police and other marine units, from approaching too close to the Atlantic City beach.
