Paris Jackson Remembers Father Michael Jackson on Late Singer’s 59th Birthday
Paris Jackson's remembering her late dad's birthday with a smile, and hopes Michael would be proud of her new sense of resolve.
Paris, who presented the Award for Best Pop Video at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night (August 27), uploaded a photo to her Instagram today that served as a happy birthday to her father, who died in 2009. On what would've been Michael's 59th birthday, Paris explained that his absence is impossible to replace.
"birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream," she wrote. "i will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always."
Paris used a good deal of her VMAs intro to condemn alt-right, Nazi and white supremacist movements, noting "We must show these Nazi white supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country, that as a nation, with liberty as our slogan, we have zero tolerance for their violence, their hatred and their discrimination."
Since then, she told TMZ she thought Michael would be "proud hopefully" of her message.
