Owner of Well Known South Jersey Ice Cream Shop Killed in Accident
Sad news to report on this Wednesday morning. The owner of Springer's Homemade Ice Cream store, a local and iconic shop in Stone Harbor, has passed way from her injuries sustained in a car crash.
According to NJ.com and Springer's Facebook page, Barbara Humphreys, 82, passed away last night after being thrown from a car. The accident occurred in the driveway of her daughter's home which was located in Wayne, PA. Humphrey's husband, Neil, also sustained serious injuries from the crash. He remains hospitalized at this time, but is expected to recover from the accident.
According to the shop's Facebook page, the Humphrey's have owned the local ice cream shop in South Jersey since 1975. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Humphrey's family during this difficult time.
