The Golden Nugget made history over the weekend as they became the first Atlantic City casino to offer outdoor gambling.  The end result was a hit with visitors!

Lisa Spengler, a spokeswoman for the gaming enforcement division, confirms that what the Nugget has done was a first.  Spengler explained recently that in the past that the Trump Marina (the Nugget's predecessor) did once offer table games outside the casino floor but they were surrounded by roll-up doors and a roof - making this not truly outdoor games.

Tom Pohlman, the Nugget's executive VP in A.C., commented that the outdoor gambling did "better than expected".  The casino had 3 blackjack tables on its outdoor deck over the weekend and did catch of attention of gamblers.

The deck offers a gambler the chance now to play blackjack, look at the A.C. skyline, and soak in the ocean view.  In the wake of competition in town and around the area (Philly), new and creative ideas that work can only help Atlantic City for now and the future.
