One South Jersey Monthly Bill is Going Down About $16
I know what you are thinking. None of your monthly bills ever go down.
Well, not true.
If you use South Jersey Gas, you are about to experience a voluntary monthly bill price reduction beginning March 1.
South Jersey Gas announced this week that on Feb. 14 they filed a notice with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to lower its supply rate by 7.7%.
The rate cut is being credited to improved market conditions for natural gas, according to Deboah Franco from South Jersey Gas, as reported by the Press of Atlantic City.
South Jersey Gas told the BPU it will be implementing a Periodic Gas Supply Supply Service rate reduction from the present rate of $0.786191 per therm to $0.627739 per therm. Both prices include taxes.
South Jersey Gas says this will save the average South Jersey customer 7.7% or an estimated $15.85 per month.
Be aware, what comes down could go back up again.
South Jersey Gas plans to continue to watch conditions in the natural gas market and base future prices on changes as necessary. But, for the near future, beginning in March, you'll have a little extra money left after paying your gas bill.
