On The Marc: Inside South Jersey [9/28 – 9/30]

Happy Friday South Jersey!  Most of you have off tomorrow and if you have to work... hopefully you'll have a great day!  I'd love to say I've missed the Jersey Shore, but after spending the past week on the shores of the Hawaiian Islands, it's kinda hard to compare. LOL  Anyway, it's back to work and back to reality...

The "official" last day of summer has come and gone and it sure feels like it.  Even though I'm coming back to a brisk morning chill, at least there are plenty of fun things to do right here in my home town!

This weekend I will be hoping to "Come On Down" to winner's row at The Price Is Right Live!  I went to this show during it's debut, last year when it was hosted by Joey Fatone.  This year will be hosted by Jerry Springer... While I'm not anticipating any lover's quarrels or family fist fights, we all know wherever Jerry Springer shows up, there is bound to be some debacle!  The show itself is very similar to the TV version, except they switch out contestants on winner's row after every game so more audience gets a chance to participate!  Prizes (last year) ranged from some electronics, sports gear to a brand new car! They also brought out the Big Wheel!  If you have the chance, I definitely would recommend this as a fun night out with friends!  Wish me luck with getting "called down!" Jonathan Peters at Providence inside Tropicana - Friday, Sept. 28, 2012

Famed DJ Jonathan Peters will perform Friday night at Providence Nightclub inside the Quarter at The Tropicana in Atlantic City.  Peters was named DJ of the Year in 2006 by DJ Times Magazine and has a string of #1 remixes as well as his own productions.  Peters has done remixes for Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, Donna Summer, Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige,Deborah Cox & Brian McKnight just to name a few!

ATB at the Borgata - Friday, Sept. 28, 2012

Superstar DJ, ATB's first track was "9pm (Till I Come)," included in the Movin' Melodies album, which topped the United Kingdom music charts in 1999 and is widely regarded as the UK's first trance number one. The track features a guitar riff that became hugely popular. This guitar sound became the trademark of his early hits. ATB continues to evolve and change with every album. His current style involves more vocals and varied sounds, with frequent pianos.

Bellator Fighting Championship at Caesar's Atlantic City - Friday, Sept. 28, 2012

The promotion’s seventh season begins at Caesars Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., and will be topped by a welterweight tournament quarterfinal between former champion Lyman Good and BAMMA vet Jim Wallhead.
The evening’s main card airs on MTV2 and features the three remaining tournament pairings, as ex-Dream champ Marius Zaromskis faces Nordine Taleb, and unbeaten Russian prospect Andrey Koreshkov squares off with Jordan Smith. Meanwhile, Bellator newcomers Tim Welch and Michail Tsarev lock horns to round out the tournament field.

Carolla co-hosted the MTV call-in program "Loveline" (1996 to 2000), and was co-host and co-creator along with Jimmy Kimmel, of the television program "The Man Show" (1999 to 2004), and co-creator and a regular performer on the television show "Crank Yankers" (2002 to 2007).

Mays Landing Fall Festival at War Memorial Park, Main Street & Route 50, Mays Landing - Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012

This is a great family fun day with lots of FREE activities for the kids like a hay toss, mummy wrapping, train rides, bounce castle and live musical entertainment. Stroll through the park and visit more than crafters and food vendors. Pumpkin painting is back by popular request and we have added a couple of teen friendly activities.

Tony Bennett at the Borgata -  Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012

Surfing America Prime Event at Revel - September 28-30, 2012

Surfing America Prime is the highest level of junior surfing in the nation. Competitors from all over the East coast with come to Revel Beach to test their skills against the best in the East to qualify for the USA Championships at Lower Trestles, San Onofre State Beach, in June, and possibly earn spot on the PacSun USA Surf Team. Surfing America Prime events feature professional judging by Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) and International Surfing Association (ISA) certified judges, computer scoring, professional announcing and 4 person 20-minute heats. Competitors qualify for the Prime series on the East Coast by excelling in either National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) or Atlantic Surfing Federation (ASF) competitions the previous season.
