New Ocean City Roller Coasters Set to Debut in Summer 2016
Roller coaster enthusiasts always know where the tallest and fastest rides are located. Well, they just may have to plan a special trip to Ocean City, New Jersey this summer!
Shore News Today reports that Playland Castaway Cove, an amusement park on the boardwalk in Ocean City, is set to launch a new series of coasters in May 2016.
Construction on the attractions began last week as workers began installing blue coaster tracks. One attraction will make take you 125 feet up in the air and make you tower over surrounding buildings.
Ultimately, there will be two brand new attractions - one coaster will be geared toward families and the other, Gale Force, will feature a 90-degree drop and a 125-foot triple launch. Wow!
I'll admit it, I'm a total wimp when it comes to roller coasters and will probably even pass on the one geared for kids and families, but I'm sure coaster enthusiasts and summer tourists alike will be super excited!
The new roller coasters are scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend.
