New Jersey to Allow Outdoor Graduation Ceremonies Starting in July
Governor Phil Murphy gave the Class of 2020 some good news today.
According to his official Facebook page, Murphy plans to allow outdoor graduation ceremonies starting July 6th, with the understanding that social distancing will still be required for the safety of students and guests.
With the 2020 school year cut short amid the coronavirus pandemic, most institutions had postponed or outright cancelled their commencement ceremonies. Some moved to virtual graduations online.
Last week, Deptford High School laid out its plan to hold more than 100 mini-graduations limited to 2 students per ceremony.
Congratulations to the Class of 2020! Looks like you'll get the recognition you so deeply deserve, after all.
