Two dozen gorgeous Garden State women arrived in Ocean City this week for the start of pageant weekend and the road to the Miss New Jersey crown.

Rehearsals are happening on the Ocean City boardwalk at the Music Pier ahead of this weekend's big competition. The contestants arrived Tuesday morning tot the Forum Motel their home for the next few days, PressofAtlanticCity.com reports.

The theme of tonight's traditional Miss New Jersey parade is “The Red Carpet on the Ocean City Boardwalk.” The contestants will ride in convertibles and will dress like they would on a Hollywood red carpet.

The parade starts at 7 p.m. at Sixth Street and will proceed down the Boardwalk to 14th Street.

The current Miss New Jersey is 21-year-old Cara McCollum of Princeton. She'll pass the crown on to the new winner Saturday night, the winner of which will move on to compete in the Miss America pageant returning to Atlantic City this September.
