Marine Mammal Stranding Center To Host A “Turtle-ly Awesome” Event
When you think of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, the animals that immediately come to mind are probably along the lines of seals, dolphins, otters, creatures like that.
While the focus for the center will always be on marine life, they're providing anyone who'd be interested with a pretty awesome experience to go and learn all about reptiles coming up in October. Reptiles -- your mind probably immediately went to snakes, right? Well, yes, there will be some snakes in attendance. However, they're mainly focusing on turtles this time around. According to the post on the Marine Mammal Stranding Center Facebook page, the event will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, and will feature the folks from Garden State Tortoise.
Ever wonder what to do when you're rushing around to leave for work in the morning, you head out to the car, and you're getting ready to pull out of the driveway only to realize there's a little turtle just chilling right behind your car? You can't just drive over him, so what do you do? No doubt, the folks from Garden State Tortoise will be able to answer that question and many others.
While you're in the session, you'll also get to learn about the important work that the Terrapin Conservation Initiative puts in to do their best to protect Jersey's diamondback terrapin.
