Police in Vineland shot and killed a man Saturday morning that was reported to be acting suspiciously, and his death was captured on Facebook Live.

In a statement, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said police responded West Wood Street between the Boulevard and Fourth St. just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday. A confrontation ensued between officers and 37-year-old Rashaun Washington of Bridgeton, resulting in Washington being fatally shot. Onlookers claim the suspect was unarmed when he was shot, but the prosecutor's office is leading the investigation in accordance with state guidelines, Courier Post reports.

Eyewitness video posted to Facebook reportedly captured an intense situation involving a crowd of onlookers and police as the man lies on the ground and an ambulance arrives.
