Assoumou Diby is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, according to Courier Post. He was reportedly waving the serrated blade of wine bottle opener in front of his face near a group of teens on Crystal Lake Ave. a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 23. Police caught up with Diby a short time later and he was taken into custody.

Whether by car or on foot, Diby had reportedly been spotted in his costume by township residents a few times last week prompting calls to police, reports Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

That had to be a bit of an alarming sight, and more than a little out of the ordinary. It doesn't ring of something spreading joy while social distancing, but more menacing than that.

Authorities have labeled Diby's actions 'disturbing', but not criminal. After charges were filed, he reportedly consented to be taken to an area hospital. He'll be in court regarding the incident July 16.
