Some travelers lean on alcohol to ease their nerves during flights. Now, some airlines are ceasing any alcohol on planes to comply with one of their new additions to preventing a spike in Coronavirus cases.

According to People, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, British Airways, and KLM have all stopped the service of alcohol on planes. This is because they want to limit any face-to-face interaction between the crew and passengers without their face masks on. Other precautions the airlines take differentiates between the airlines. American Airlines limited selling food in the cabins. However, they take into account the length and destination of the flight. They also only serve alcohol to the first-class passengers.

Delta Airlines stopped all alcoholic service and will only give individuals bottled water. British Airways will not be issuing any alcohol to any economy passengers. Instead, they will get a snack and bottled water. Business-class passengers receive a prepared meal box but can choose from alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. KLM stopped serving hot and alcoholic beverages. Instead, the passengers will be given a prepared refreshment.

The major airlines are also planning to enforce face masks while on the plane. Nicholas E. Calio, president and CEO of A4A said, "U.S. airlines are very serious about requiring face coverings on their flights. Carriers are stepping up enforcement of face coverings and implementing substantial consequences for those who do not comply with the rules."

Calio also said that "Face coverings are one of several public health measures recommended by the CDC as an important layer of protection for passengers and customer-facing employees."
