I can't wait for summer and the past few warm days in February really have me jonesing for some serious summertime activities.

Fireworks on the Seaside Heights boardwalk, watching the sunset over the bay, fishing, and of course reading on the beach in the summer sun.

We're getting close, every day I see more and more signs that summer is approaching.

Casino Pier is getting ready to start its weekend hours very soon, plus towns are starting to announce their outdoor summer movie schedules.

Jenks released their movies on the beach schedule this past week.

Lavallette also released their movies on the bay schedule for 2023.

From what I understand, the official kick-off to the summer season in Ocean and Monmouth Counties is sometime around July 4th.

However, one shore town is having a kick-off to the summer festival the weekend before that you're not going to want to miss.

I've been to this event a couple of times over the years, and it's always something I look forward to.

It's a day-long celebration featuring food trucks, live bands, and some other fun activities.

Mark your calendars for Lavallette's kick-off to the summer food truck festival and 5K run!

When Is Lavallete NJ's Kick-Off To Summer Food Truck Fest?

It's not just a food truck festival, but also a 5K race in the morning, we'll get to that in a minute.

According to Enjoy Lavallette, the food truck fest will happen Saturday, June 24th, from 3 PM to 9 PM.

Admission is $5 per person and will take place near the Bay at Philadelphia and Washington Avenues.

But wait, there's more!

You can register now to participate in the kick-off to the summer 5K.

The 5K starts at 9 AM and costs $35 per runner, but that fee also includes your ticket to the food truck festival.

It just means you get to visit an extra food truck after burning off all those calories.
