Kelly Clarkson Says She’s Worried About Being Bad at This One Thing on Her Talk Show
Kelly Clarkson is about to embark on a new path as host on The Kelly Clarkson Show and she revealed the hardest—and most important—thing she had to learn about the new gig.
The American Idol alum made an appearance on Ellen on Tuesday (Feb. 5), where she admitted she struggles with listening to her guests because she often talks over them to avoid the awkward silence. "I do need to learn, and I have literally been watching, like, I’ve seen your show, tons of it, but I watch all your episodes and Oprah’s and everyone’s 'cause I’m like, ‘How do I listen?’" she explained. "‘Cause I was not good at listening.”
She went on to say she's not worried about how it will affect her show because she and her team have come up with a way to make her a better listener. “I literally had Alex [Duda], who’s producing the show, I literally had her...draw an airplane on a big giant card and, like, ‘Land it.’ 'Cause I don’t shut up," she said, adding, “If I’m still going, get right there in my sight and just land the plane. And then I’ll be like, ‘We’re wrapping it up.'”
Luckily, veteran host Ellen DeGeneres had a few pointers for the singer, such as practicing with her husband at home. Check out a part of Clarkson's interview below:
