Wawa’s Coffee Beats Disney’s Magic, Forbes Survey Finds
For those living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, we all know that Wawa is a staple of life around here.
If you're like me, not only do you pass half a dozen Wawas just driving to work every day, but sometimes you stop in more than once a day.
You make that morning Wawa run for a cup of coffee and a Sizzli, there's the afternoon stop for a snack, and when I can't figure out what to have for dinner, a Wawa hoagie is my go-to.
But just how much do we love our region's favorite convenience store chain? An absolutely incredible amount.
I mean, this will shock you.
How Much Do We Love Wawa?
The writers at Forbes magazine recently released their "Halo 100" list, which highlighted "excellence in delivering the experience that customers want to have."
Simply put, it measures how well and how responsibly brands are serving their customers.
How Forbes Measured the Rankings
Forbes' rankings included companies of all shapes and sizes, from regional chains to massive global brands.
And this wasn't a small survey. The rankings of these companies came from feedback from well over 100,000 consumers on more than 2.8 million interactions with different brands.
Wawa Beats Big Names
On this international platform, Wawa ranked an extremely impressive 12th.
Yes, 12th on a global scale.
To put that in perspective, here are some companies they beat:
- 13. Sony
- 14. Nintendo
- 16. Target
- 22. Disney
- 28. Southwest Airlines
- 37. Hilton
- 51. Tesla
Yes, Wawa, with their hoagies, coffee, gas, and plastic-wrapped soft pretzels, ranked much higher than Sony, Tesla, and even Disney.
Technically speaking, many say you'll have a more enjoyable time at Wawa than you will at Disney World (at least Wawa doesn't charge you $189 to walk into their stores).
Here are the Top Five
- Costco
- In-N-Out Burger
- Chick-fil-A
- Publix
- Trader Joe's
So, how did Wawa get to where it is today? It's been an amazing run, especially since their stores have only been around for a little over 60 years.
