State Wanted 5 Years, Man Gets Probation For Sexual Contact in Atlantic City, NJ
A man from Baltimore will not spend time behind bars in a case involving criminal sexual contact in Atlantic City over five years ago.
On Tuesday, 66-year-old Hosea R. Jackson received probation for third-degree criminal restraint with the risk of serious bodily injury and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact charges.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says on July 30th, 2018, Jackson locked a housekeeper at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City in his hotel room. He grabbed her arms and placed her hand over his genitals, refusing to let her go.
A struggle ensued until the victim was able to break free and escape. She locked herself in a nearby room and called for help.
This past July, an Atlantic County jury found Jackson guilty of both counts.
The State had argued that Jackson should be sentenced to five years in state prison due to his prior criminal record.
