Five people are facing drug and weapons charges in Ocean County.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says its office, along with multiple other law enforcement agencies, recently conducted an extensive investigation into the distribution of drugs.

Their work identified two residences and a hotel room in Toms River, as well as a residence in Brick Township, as being utilized by 25-year-old Tyrese Lett, 28-year-old Kylah Parks, 38-year-old Rameek Peace, all of Toms River, and 39-year-old Kyle Murrin of Brick Township, to allegedly "store and distribute illegal narcotics in Ocean County."

Drugs, Cash Seized During Traffic Stop

Last Thursday, February 19th, authorities said they stopped a vehicle being driven by Lett, with Parks as a passenger, in the Lakehurst area, where they were taken into custody. A search warrant that was executed on that vehicle and the Toms River hotel room yielded 49 grams of cocaine, 70 grams of crack cocaine, 16 bricks of heroin, morphine pills, alprazolam pills, oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia, and approximately $25,000 cash, according to officials.

The same day, detectives saw Peace leave his home in Toms River, and while walking in the area of Route 37, he was taken into custody without incident.

Firearm Recovered During Investigation

The Toms River Township Police Department then executed a search warrant on the two subject homes in Toms River, where they say they found a Keltec 9mm firearm. At one of the homes was 36-year-old Moises Martinez, who was also taken into custody.

Also on February 19th, officers executed another search warrant at a home in Brick Township, where they say they seized 20 grams of codeine, hydrocodone pills, and drug paraphernalia indicative of narcotics distribution. Murrin, who was home at the time, was arrested.

Martinez was charged with being a certain person not to possess a firearm. The other four are each facing a laundry list of charges.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
