Airman at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Admits to Hundreds of Child Porn Images
An airman with the United States Air Force has admitted to receiving child porn while at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
Earlier this week in Trenton federal court, 34-year-old Christian Keilberg of Ocean County pleaded guilty to a charge of receipt of child pornography.
More Than 600 Images Received
Authorities say from November 2020 through November 2022, while Keilberg was an enlisted active-duty airman with the Air Force who was living and working on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, he used an app and social media to communicate with minors in and outside of New Jersey.
Keilberg exchanged sexually explicit messages with the minor victims and asked them to send him images and videos of themselves engaging in sexually explicit conduct, which they did.
According to officials, Keilberg received more than 600 images of child porn, including those of minors as young as twelve.
Possible Prison Sentence
For his actions, he now faces five to 20 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced on June 18th.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
