Atlantic County, New Jersey Sheriff Is Making It Count
Joe O'Donoghue wanted to be The Sheriff of Atlantic County, New Jersey for many years. He’s now in the process of making it count.
About 2 1/2 years ago, O’Donoghue’s long-time dream came true when he defeated then incumbent Sheriff Eric Scheffler to win his first 3-year term.
It Worked out Well For Both Men
Scheffler went on to become the Executuve Director of the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority … where he has done a nice job.
O’Donoghue has distinguished himself and his agency … by restoring the core functions of a paramilitary organization in a most impressive way.
Now A Proactive Law Enforcement Agency
Every month, I report about the latest arrests in Atlantic County made by the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department. The list is consistently long.
It’s not just the number of arrests. Their consistent. good work has helped Mom’s get their much-needed child support … as well as bringing others to justice.

It was recently announced that:
Atlantic County Sheriff Joseph "Tokyo" O'Donoghue has been elected Secretary to the Executive Board of the Constitution Officers Association of New Jersey, a notable distinction during his first term as Sheriff. Previously, he was voted into the Executive Board of the New Jersey State Sheriff's Association where he serves. Serving on these state oversight boards is a significant honor for the State of New Jersey. The Sheriff's presence on these boards will undoubtedly enhance Atlantic County's representation throughout the state, according to a recent press release.
