
Egg Harbor Township House Fire Leaves Family’s Dog Dead
Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — No people were hurt but a family dog died during a house fire in Egg Harbor Township Thursday afternoon.
Fire Breaks Out on Millstone Court
The blaze broke out around 2:30 at a home at 102 Millstone Court.
According to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, arriving officers saw flames and smoke coming from the roof of the home.
Dog Unable to be Rescued
They were met by the homeowners outside, who said everyone was able to safely evacuate. It was reported that their dog was unable to be retrieved from the home before the flames became too intense.
Members of the Scullville and Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire, joined by the Northfield and Linwood Fire Departments. They battled the blaze for about an hour before it was fully extinguished. Egg Harbor Township EMS also assisted.
The American Red Cross offered assistance to the family.
Cause of Fire Remains Under Investigation
EHT police said at this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined, but preliminary investigations do not reveal anything suspicious.
