Atlantic City, New Jersey area attorney and author, V. Scott Macom will be participating in an upcoming “Spooky Tales” event at the Somers Point Mansion on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

Macom is the author of a great book, titled “Devil Leeds.”

In 2021, I wrote several definitive articles about Macom and ‘Devil Leeds.”

It’s a fascinating story that dates back to August 19, 1879, located in a desolate forest region known as The Pine Barrens.

Macom gave me the honor to write a “forward,” located on the back cover of “Devil Leeds.” It reads:

Until Scotty Macom, no one had ever captured the true essence and meaning of the Jersey Devil. Scotty has successfully meshed his elaborate investigation, along with the truth. He looked at every angle of this legendary creature said to have inhabited the Pine Barrens. It's a great read that you can't put down. Scott has layered his story with intelligent textures. Scott has achieved the best result on this topic ever - Harry Hurley, Host of the “Hurley in the Morning” program - WPG Talk Radio.

Macom put the time and effort to tell the most complete history of “The Jersey Devil” ever written.

That’s why I agreed to participate and wrote the description of Scott’s book above.

Scott will be bringing his talents to The Patriots for the Somers Mansion 4th annual free, seasonal event, called "Spooky Tales of the Jersey Devil".

Macom is the perfect speaker for this topic.

The event will be held on the grounds of the historic Somers Mansion on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

To create the proper mood, a bonfire will begin at 6:00 p.m. and Macom’s presentation will begin at dark, which will be at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Macom, has been featured on the Travel Channel for a detailed segment, ”In Search of the Jersey Devil.”

The upcoming special event in Somers Point will also feature:

supernatural stories.

Jerseyana.

other oddities.

Event organizers promise that there ”will be unexpected frights, laughs and a guest appearance by a coven of witches.“

Further,

All guests are encouraged to dress weather-appropriately and bring coolers and lawn chairs. Light snacks, t-shirts and the Devil Leeds book will be sold and chairs are available to rent for a $5 donation; all proceeds benefit the Patriots for the Somers Mansion and its current project to restore the historic second-floor balcony. A rain date is scheduled for November 1, 2024.
