This New Jersey Quarterback just landed with another NFL team
After the first 5 weeks of the 2025 NFL season, multiple teams have suffered short and long-term injuries at the Quarterback position. These injuries are already impacting the landscape of the league and the upcoming NFL Playoffs.
While the Baltimore Ravens are playing without two-time NFL MVP Award Winner Lamar Jackson for an indefinite period of time, teams like the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings have been forced to play their backup Quarterbacks for a few weeks.
When the Cincinnati Bengals lost their starting QB Joe Burrow, there was the expectation that the team would lean on three-year backup Quarterback Jake Browning. But the former University of Washington QB has struggled, accumulating eight interceptions in his last four games this season.
Bengals Make A Trade For a New Jersey Quarterback
For the second time in the last three months, a South Jersey High School Football star has been traded to a team dealing with injuries.
Back on August 25th, the Las Vegas Raiders acquired Kenny Pickett from the Cleveland Browns. The Raiders' Backup Quarterback Aidan O'Connell suffered a fractured wrist on his throwing arm, and the organization wanted an experienced QB to serve as the new backup for the Raiders.
Now Super Bowl 47 MVP Award winner Joe Flacco has been traded to the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that still has aspirations for the postseason. This will be the sixth different NFL team that the Audubon High School Graduate will be a starting Quarterback.
At 40 years old, Flacco will become the first QB in NFL history who will start games for the Bengals, Browns, and Ravens. This is also only the third time this century that a Quarterback was traded within the division (Donovan McNabb from the Eagles to Washington, Drew Bledsoe from the Patriots to Buffalo).
Flacco has struggled in his 4 starts for the Browns, leading them to a 1-3 record. The South Jersey High School Football Alumni had just Two Touchdowns, and his Six Interceptions are the third most in the NFL this season. But Cincinnati is hoping that a change of scenery and the opportunity to play with better offensive talent could be the key to get one last good run out of Flacco.
The Audubon High School Graduate is one of 15 Quarterbacks from New Jersey High Schools who have started games in the National Football League:
