Mays Landing, NJ, Native Cody Stashak Signs Minor-League deal with Philadelphia Phillies
Another Cape-Atlantic League baseball alum has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Former Oakcrest High School pitcher Cody Stashak, a 2012 Oakcrest graduate, was a 13th-round pick by the Twins in the 2015 draft.
He worked his way through Junior College for two seasons at Cumberland County College, and later St. John's.

He made his way to the Majors on July 23rd, 2019 with the Twins.
After spending four seasons with the Twins, the Mays Landing native was released and landed in the Atlantic League, pitching for the Lancaster Barnstormers. Overall in four MLB seasons, Stashak is 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA, 1,194 WHIP, striking out 83 in 72 innings of work with the Minnesota Twins from 2019-2022.
The 30-year-old signed with the San Francisco Giants in August of 2023 and posted a 5.45 ERA with Triple-A Sacramento in 2024. He last pitched in the majors in 2022 with the Twins.
He adds organizational depth to the Phillies bullpen and should compete for a bullpen job with Philadelphia down at Spring Training starting in February. He'll head to Clearwater with a group of bullpen arms that let the Phillies down in the postseason but might have a similar look in 2025.
Stashak joins Millville’s Buddy Kennedy as Cape-Atlantic League alums in the Phillies organization.
