LaScala's Beach House, a new bar and restaurant in Brigantine, held a grand opening party Thursday night with an outdoor-only show from reggae band Cheezy and the Crackers.

LaScala’s Beach House, 400 Ocean Avenue, is in the former Laguna Grill and Rum Bar location. Laguna called it quits last year after a decade on the beach in Brigantine.

In January, Alicia DiMichele, wife of the new bar's owner, gave a tour of the building's renovations on Instagram saying the Beach House was undergoing an extensive renovation to open up the indoor space from Laguna's floor plan.

The new owners operate six locations of LaScala's Fire, an Italian American restaurant with locations in Medford, Glassboro, and four other restaurants in and around Philadelphia.

Thursday's show sets the scene for a weekend of live music outside and oceanfront at the Beach House with Don't Call Me Francis scheduled for Friday 6- 10 pm and The Whitewalls playing Saturday from 1- 5 pm.

Word is LaScala's Beach House will have a rotating list of local craft beers, wines, and spirits.

Things are so new at the Beach House, there isn't any social media or a website yet, but LaScala's Fire is known for its wood-fired pizza, pasta, and other Italian and American dishes.
