In a Patch article posted this week, officials said there was a simple answer: "The U.S. Space Force, working with United Launch Alliance, sent its Vulcan USSF-106 rocket into space from Cape Canaveral, Florida, sparking excitement and curiosity along the East Coast about what was streaking through the sky."

It is not known what was contained aboard this rocket. While full details about the rocket’s payload were not revealed, officials confirmed it carried an experimental military navigation satellite along with other equipment, all of which were successfully placed into orbit around Earth.

Did you see the rocket launch? Anyone out there grab a pic? We would love to see it.

One thing that was visible and identified was the "conjunction" in the skies over New Jersey. What is this? In simple terms, a conjunction in the skies is when two objects, like planets, the Moon, or a bright star, appear very close together from our point of view on Earth. They’re not side-by-side in space; it’s just a line-of-sight illusion, like two far-away streetlights looking next to each other from where you’re standing.
