New Jersey has its fair share of ghost stories, and our ranking for hauntings in America has been revealed.
You would imagine that any state with Cape May within its borders would be among the most haunted states in America.
How Haunted Is New Jersey?
And if you add in the story of the Jersey Devil, who reportedly lives in the vast expanses of the Pine Barrens, we'd probably be pretty close to the top of the list.
Despite these spine-tingling attributes, New Jersey finds itself woefully low on a list of most haunted states published by the Travel Channel.

New Jersey is ranked as the 27th most haunted state in America. We're not even in the top half of the states.

I'm sure this news will not make the Jersey Devil of the ghosts that roam the buildings of Cape May happy.
And it won't make people who have had spooky experiences at the Spy House or the Devil's Tree believe any less.

So, which state is the most haunted in America? That honor belongs to California, while the least haunted state is Delaware.
With Halloween right around the corner, our ranking is probably disappointing to some Garden State residents.
