There was a report that listed the most popular food in each state. World Strides determined the food for each state, and although it's a logical choice, it doesn't seem like the correct answer for us.
Some states had great choices like Louisiana's Gumbo, Massachusetts Clam Chowder, and Maryland's Blue Crab. Do you know what we got? We got blueberries.
I love blueberries, and I am proud of the Garden State for our dominance in the blueberry world, but is it really our favorite food?
What Is New Jersey's Favorite Food According To Residents?
We asked New Jersey residents in a very informal poll, which food is their favorite, and spoiler alert, blueberries did not take the top spot.

Here are the top three foods, according to the New Jersey residents we spoke to:
#3 Italian Food/Chicken Parm - Chicken Parm is my personal favorite, but I'll take any Italian food.
#2 Subs/Hoagies - We are the home of Jersey Mike's, so we must love them, and whether you call them hoagies or subs, they are equally delicious.

#1 Pizza - I will go out on a limb and say New Jersey's pizza is the best in the country, and not even blueberries can compete with that.

We love blueberries and are proud to be a state that produces more than most states, but nothing replaces our pizza in New Jersey.
