It was one of my favorite places to meet up with friends, a place where we could sit outside, listen to live music, and enjoy a cold beer, but I recently heard some rumors that this New Jersey brewpub shut down.

Turns out those rumors are true.

The sign on the door reads "Closed indefinitely We apologize."

Ark Brew Pub in Lumberton Shuts Down

Turns out, they announced the news last week but didn't give a reason why they abruptly closed.

It was just last year when state regulators shut down the brewpub for several weeks, but this time it appears it's closed for good.

The owners of Ark Brew Pub said, “To our beloved regulars it was a blessing getting to know you and watch you turn from guests to friends and family,” they wrote. “Please continue to support local businesses so that other family-owned local businesses can thrive,” according to NJ.com

The article listed other New Jersey breweries that recently shut down including The Alementary in Hackensack, Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing Company in Cherry Hill, and Flying Fish Brewing Company in Somerdale.

It will be interesting to see what takes over that space.

I'll keep you posted.

There are so many great breweries in New Jersey.
