This Surprising Thing Is What One Of Five New Jersey Residents Do On Halloween
Halloween season is here, but not everybody is very excited about it. Yes, there are people who find a way to hide from trick-or-treaters, and there are many more of them than you might suspect.
Do you know someone who hides when the trick-or-treaters arrive? Are you one of them? If you are, don't try to hide it, you are certainly not alone.
According to recent surveys, about one in five people have found a way to avoid answering the door when all the ghosts, goblins, Spidermen, and Barbies make their way up the front steps.
At first, we feel bad about this because we think of those tiny little kids who are so proud of their costumes and just want a little piece of candy. But we all know it's not that simple. We are not here to judge.
We are simply here to inform you that if you do opt for the hiding option, there are some pretty clever ways to get it accomplished.
Once, again, we stress that our hope is that every little costumed child gets a full bucket of goodies, but if you are not the Halloween front-door answering type, there are some suggested ways to get it done.
Here are three of them.
The Bucket On The Stoop. Simply fill a bucket with candy and leave a small note for the children to help themselves. As we know, this bucket will be empty after the first two teenagers arrive.
The Darkened Lights. Let me just say this. If every light in your house is off, we know you're in there. Leave at least one small light on to help convince us all that you really might not be home.
The Out To Dinner Crowd. One way to give the illusion you are not at home is to actually not be at home. Go to your favorite restaurant, eat slowly, and order dessert. The worst of it should be over before you get home.
We certainly don't really encourage any of these. We want you to get in the Halloween spirit and enjoy how much the kids love it. But if that doesn't move you, at least now you have a plan.
