The main reason for the close is because of the increase in online shopping, people just don't physically go to stores like they used to reports the Philadelphia Inquirer, who also mention that once this Sears store closes, the next closest Sears is several hundred miles North in Braintree Massachusettes.

Despite the closure, there are already plans in the works for the shuttering department store.

One company's closure is another company's opportunity to expand, that's just business.

Details at this point are pretty shaky, but NJ.com reports that there are plans for Dave And Busters to revamp the Sears in the Newport Centre to be the next location for their restaurant and arcade.

This will be Dave and Buster's fifth location in the Garden State, with the other locations in Wayne, Woodbridge, and Blackwood.
