Is It Ever Okay To Leave Home Without Your Wedding Ring? [POLL]

Since I got married in November I've left home without my wedding ring on a few occasions.  My husband doesn't seem to mind, but most other people freak out that I even take it off.

So, is it really that big of a deal to occasionally leave home without your ring?
