Imagine Dragons played to more 10,000 of their biggest fans last week in Philly. During the performance, front man Dan Reynolds took a few moments to talk about his ongoing battle with depression, as well as the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas.

I thought it was incredible that Dan allowed himself to be so vulnerable about his mental health issues, especially with thousands of people, including me, filming his ever word on their smartphones. The fact that he stopped the show to address an often stigmatized topic is part of what makes him such a big inspiration. He also wanted to assure the audience that every precaution was taken that night to ensure concerts goers' safety, in light of the recent mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas, the Dragons home town.
