As a pet owner, not only am I concerned right now about how coronavirus could affect my furry friends, but also what I'd do if there was an emergency that couldn't wait for a wellness appointment.

That's why I was relieved to learn that my friends at Stafford Veterinary Hospital are still open for high-priority in-person appointments, such as administer vaccines and monitoring and providing medications for chronic conditions.

They also are part of an app-based network that allows pet owners to video conference with highly-qualified vets 24/7. Simply download the Airvet app, select your primary hospital/vet's office when you create your account and name your primary vet. Then, you can reach out to any vet within the network for more serious matters or choose to wait until your primary vet is available for more routine, less urgent matters.

Stafford Vet also has been a great resource for coronavirus information. I saw a Facebook post recently reassuring us that "there is no evidence that domestic animals, including pets and livestock, can spread COVID-19 in people." In addition, there are no reports of pets or livestock contracting COVID-19 in the United States, but you should still contact your vet about respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments so they can explore common ailments.

It's such peace of mind knowing I can stay informed by Stafford Vet. I love the AirVet app and knowing their services are available to me day or night, even if it's just to ease my concerns.
