You should still hold back from washing your hair daily, but you may want to think twice before you use that shampoo in a can.  Unilever just announced a voluntary recall of 19 products, some of which I bet you have in your bathroom right now.  You’ll want to check the brand you currently have because there are high levels of cancer-causing chemicals in them.

The chemical in question is benzene, which is a known carcinogen.  The fact that you are spraying it into your scalp causes multiple ways to ingest the chemical.  It enters your skin, and you can inhale it in the air.  This chemical is known to cause leukemia as well as blood cancers.

This was a voluntary recall and should be taken very seriously.  These are some of the brands that were affected:

Toss any of these products manufactured before October 2021.  A full list of the exact products and their codes can be found here.

You can visit the company website to see if you qualify for a reimbursement.  Since we all shop online nowadays that becomes even easier.  Do you remember these brick-and-mortar stores that our parents used to shop at?  These are long gone now but bring back such memories!
