Gloucester Township Reports 9 More Cases of Coronavirus
Nearly 60 more positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Camden County, including 9 more in Gloucester Township.
That brings the total number of infected GT residents to 47, according to Patch.com.
Two additional Camden County residents have also reportedly died from the virus. A man in his 60's from Winslow Twp. and a man in his 80's from Camden.
Of the growing number of cases in Camden County, Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said:
In the fight against the novel coronavirus, the days become longer and tougher as we continue to see fatalities and new positive cases. It saddens me to report the county had two more fatalities today. The devastating impact this insidious virus is having on our community is unprecedented and historic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been met by the tragic consequences of this pandemic, and we will not forget them as we double our efforts to flatten the curve.
Cappelli also urged county residents to continue to take the COVID-19 threat seriously, impressing the importance of social distancing.
The number of cases in Gloucester Township is of great concern to me. It's where I grew up, and where my parents (currently aged 64 and 70) reside. Because of my dad's pre-existing health issues and my own autoimmune disease, I've not been able to see them during this difficult time. My thoughts go out to the community there.
