Former Margate Firefighter Arrested in Drug Bust

Ashton Funk initially lost his position as a firefighter in Margate after he was caught shoplifting. He's now been arrested for allegedly dealing drugs.

35-year-old Funk is accused of distributing opioid oxycodone, in a drug ring led by a New Jersey doctor who reportedly falsified prescriptions, according to Courier Post.

In 2015, Funk was charged with stealing $8 in snacks from a local Wawa. He was found guilty and forced to resign from his firefighting job in Margate. Last year, he lost an appeal to have his position reinstated.
