Think twice now about using those flushable wipes.

A community in South Jersey was in a rather smelly situation and ran into a problem with ‘flushable’ wipes recently.

The Municipal Utilities Authority in Mount Laurel Township released photos of what seemed like an endless supply of wipes that appeared to clog the sewage pumps. Back in May multiple crews were working on a sewer project along Hartford Road when they took pictures of the clogged pipe, according to officials. The 'flushable' wipes didn't seem so 'flush-worthy' and caused delays finishing the project.

Officials use this as a reminder that the public should not flush disposable wipes ever, despite what the advertisements say, for safety and maintenance issues.
