New Jersey is one of only two states in America that doesn't permit drivers to pump their own gas, and I'm totally good with that. But a new bill could allow us the opportunity.

A bill being introduced in the Assembly would authorize drivers to fuel up themselves.

But for those happy to have the professionals do the pumping, the bill reportedly calls for merchants to offer self-service gas but they must also continue to provide full service.

The Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety Act, which requires trained attendants to pump gasoline, dates back to 1949.
