Don’t Believe Last Night’s Jersey Mike’s BLT Hoax

When a lie gets fanned by the flames of social media, it can blow up in a big way. Such was the case last night as Jersey's Mike's Subs began trending overnight.

Jersey Mike's - the sandwich chain with over 1,500 locations worldwide, is headquartered in Wall Township. The chain traces its roots back to Point Pleasant in 1956.

Last night, though, Jersey Mike's starting trending on Twitter as a hoax snowballed and kept rolling downhill.

We checked Jersey Mike's Twitter page, and other social media, and we could not find anything to substantiate this Tweet from Yassir Lester.

So, we can quickly assume that it was all a hoax. Unfortunately, many on social media just believed what they read, without double-checking.

We assume it's going to be a tough morning in Wall Township with a lot of questions being asked.
