Like other restaurants, Exit Zero Filling Station, named for its location as the very end of the Garden State Parkway, had to get creative in finding safe ways to continue to serve customers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Owner Scott Wright tells 6abc.com, Exit Zero got with the safety program early on. "We actually closed our restaurant before Governor Murphy issued his executive order," said Wright. "We very quickly changed to take out because that was the only way we could survive."

The move with the times, Exit Zero added tables to its gas pumping stations. When winter rolled around, making outdoor dining more challenges, Exit Zero put up little small ski-themed tents and lodges with heaters, and converted and styled an Airstream trailer with a 1960's vibe, vinyl record player included.

The restaurant was recently featured on 6abc. Watch the video below!

So far, Wright says the upgrades to Exit Zero have proved popular and profitable, according to 6abc.com.

I applaud Scott and the staff at Exit Zero for thinking outside the box. It couldn't have been easy to figure out ways to move the small business forward during such an uncertain time.

Exit Zero Filling Station is located at 110 Sunset Blvd. in Cape May.
