Demi Lovato has joined the cast of Will Ferrell's upcoming Netflix comedy film, Eurovision.

The announcement came via Twitter in a video Ferrell posted to celebrate Lovato's 27th birthday. "Hi everyone. Will Ferrell here on the set of my new movie Eurovision," he told the camera. "We want to make a very special announcement about a brand new cast member, and it just happens to be her birthday. I made her this wonderful cake from scratch."

This marks Lovato's first acting role since playing Mitchie Torres in 2010’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

Lovato will play the role of Katiana, an amazing singer from Iceland, Deadline reported. The show will center around Lars (played by Ferrell) and Sigrit (played by Rachel McAdams) who represent Iceland in the Eurovision song competition.

Dan Stevens will play Alexander Lemtov, a Russian contestant and Pierce Brosnan will play Erick Erickssong, who will play Lars’ father and is "the most handsome man in Iceland."

David Dobkin is directing the film, with Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Chris Henchy as producers through their Gary Sanchez Productions label. They are currently filming the movie in Iceland and the U.K.
