Crash That Killed New Jersey Couple on Way to Their Wedding Leads to Charges
A California truck driver has been charged in the deaths of a New Jersey couple on the way to their wedding last November.
Kathryn Schurtz and her fiance Joseph Kearney lost their lives in a fiery crash on I-78 in Bucks County on their way to Pittsburgh to exchange vows. The rear of the couple's vehicle was reportedly slammed into by a tractor trailer that failed to slow for traffic congestion.
Schurtz and Kearney were residents of Jersey City, according to Star Ledger.
A warrant has been issued for the 42-year truck driver. He's accused of excessive speed, following too closely, and reportedly being on his cell phone at the time of the accident, reports 6abc.com.
