At that location, officials said,

"...several individuals were observed in the immediate vicinity of the reported incident and detained for investigative purposes. During the ensuing inquiry, a patrol officer encountered one of the individuals who was subsequently identified as 44-year-old Richard Grillo, currently residing in the City of Wildwood. As a result of the field contact, Grillo was identified by multiple eyewitnesses, as the individual who was in possession of the firearm during the altercation."

At the scene, cops found a Daisy Model 189 BB Pistol and they learned a second firearm was involved in the altercation.

A search warrant was executed at Grillo's home and officers found a 9mm Taurus semi-automatic pistol, with ammunition, according to a press release.

Grillo has been charged with two counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (Xanax), and theft of certain property namely a controlled dangerous substance identified as 120 tablets of prescribed medication. He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.

Police did not release any information about other people involved in the altercation nor if there were any injures.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

What Not to Do on a Traffic Stop According to a NJ Cop

My husband is a police officer. He is an amazing man who saves lives and upholds the law. He makes me proud every single day.

I know being a police officer can come with a lot of criticism, especially when there are bad eggs that give police officers a bad name. I can assure you that there are many police officers that uphold the law and do not abuse it, and my husband is one of them.

I hear stories when my husband comes home and he tells me that he encounters some crazy people. I feel like it is very simple to not get arrested by a police officer once you're pulled over or have an encounter with a cop. I went right to my hubby and he gave me some tips to share with all of you.
