Christopher Chin of Cape May County is out front of the efforts to get supplies to those in need because of Hurricane Florence.

Even before the hurricane hit land in the Carolinas, Chin began a local effort to help. He's secured a large truck and has organized a supply drive to head down south next week.

Here's what's being collected: Non perishable food, bottled water, diapers, formula, batteries, flashlights, personal hygiene items and clothing (must be new), etc. It's important to note that ALL CLOTHING MUST BE NEW! Chin says he learned from a prior relief effort that FEMA will not accept used clothing because of a fear of insects.

Drop off locations right now are United Uniforms, 1050 Route 47 in Rio Grande, and Philly Hairworks, 117 Philadelphia Ave in Egg Harbor City.

There is a Facebook page, which you can check for more information, Cape May for Florence.

There is also a GoFundMe page where you can donate. Money will be used to cover the cost of the truck, fuel, and tolls.
